News Articles > Jon'Vea Johnson: Looking to build on rookie flashes

(RotoWire) Johnson (shoulder) is competing for a depth spot on the 53-man roster, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.

Analysis: Johnson enjoyed an impressive training camp in Dallas last season after going undrafted out of Toledo, but an ill-timed preseason shoulder injury ended his rookie campaign prematurely. If the 6-foot-0, 192-pound sophomore wideout is again able to capitalize on his offseason opportunities, he could make another case to secure a position on the 53-man roster. As a speedster who makes up for unremarkable athleticism with solid route running, showing well on special teams would further assist Johnson's chances of making the team.
